  • Join one of the oldest environmental nonprofits in the US: the Sierra Club, which helped pass the Clean Air Act. The Massachusetts Chapter of the Sierra Club offers various volunteer opportunities.

  • Amplify Massachusetts Climate Action Networks’s (MCAN) campaigns to raise awareness on initiatives such as community shared solar and carbon pricing.

  • Volunteer with Speak for the Trees Boston and help improve the size and health of the urban tree canopy in Boston, particularly in under-resourced and under-canopied neighborhoods.

Take an everyday action

  • Let your clothes and hair air dry instead of using extra energy.

  • Eat less meat, especially cows! Livestock alone accounts for 14.5% of greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Start composting and properly reduce of your food scraps. Composting enriches soil and lessens the amount of methane gas released into the atmosphere.
